The Department of Nursing Education and Health Studies offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Program in collaboration with our partner institution, and the Unit Clerk Program (on-campus and online).
Graduates work in a variety of health care settings both locally and nationally. All programs include practical components where students are able to apply theory to practice.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
GPRC offers the Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program. Students obtain a four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BScN) with all courses being completed at GPRC.
In this program, the art and science of nursing is developed through a variety of methods. You will gain practical experiences in nursing laboratories, acute care, and community agencies in the region.

The Department of Nursing Education and Health Studies has implemented a situational judgement test (CASPer) for all applicants to the BScN program. The earlier your CASPer scores are submitted, the earlier the university can make an admissions decision on your application.

Unit Clerks play a vital role in hospitals and clinics by managing the flow of information. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for a future in the health care field through practical courses such as medical terminology, office procedures, and pharmacology.
This certificate program is offered through face-to-face instruction as well as through distance education to students across Alberta.
Practical Nurse Diploma

The Practical Nurse Diploma program is a two-year program that prepares students to be registered as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Various career opportunities for graduates exist within the Canadian healthcare system.
Perioperative Nursing Certificate
