Nurses Care for Families and Communities!
The Department of Nursing Education and Health Studies offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Program in collaboration with the University of Alberta; the Perioperative Nursing Program (online) and the Unit Clerk Program (on-campus and online).
Graduates work in a variety of health care settings both locally and nationally. All three programs include practical components where students are able to apply theory to practice.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
GPRC offers the University of Alberta Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program. Students obtain a four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BScN) with all courses being completed at GPRC.
In this program, the art and science of nursing is developed through a variety of methods. You will gain practical experiences in nursing laboratories, acute care, and community agencies in the region.
Perioperative Nursing Certificate
This program is currently under review, and will not be accepting students for the 2020-2021 academic year. If you have any questions, or would like more information, please call 780-539-2753.
This certificate program is offered through distance education to RN's across Canada.
The Perioperative Nursing Certificate program, approved by the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada, will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to work in the perioperative environment.
Unit Clerk Certificate
Unit Clerks play a vital role in hospitals and clinics by managing the flow of information. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for a future in the health care field through practical courses such as medical terminology, office procedures, and pharmacology.
This certificate program is offered through face-to-face instruction as well as through distance education to students across Alberta.
