The Governor General’s Academic Medal has been awarded to Ms. Kayla Kramer, the student with the highest academic standing at Grande Prairie Regional College in the 2012-2013 Academic Year. Ms. Kramer is a graduate of the Animal Health Technology program, offered at GPRC Fairview.
The Governor General's Academic Medal is one of the most prestigious awards that a student in a Canadian educational institution can receive. The Governor General of Canada continues this tradition to encourage scholarship across the nation and recognize outstanding students.
The Collegiate Bronze medal is awarded to the student who achieves the highest overall average upon graduation from a diploma-level, postsecondary program (minimum two-year, full-time duration). The award includes a cast-bronze medal and a certificate signed by the Governor General.
Kayla Kramer came to GPRC from her home in Fort St. John, BC, and has consistently achieved excellence in her studies in Animal Health Technology. She is now employed at North Peace Veterinary Clinic in Fort St. John.
“GPRC is very proud to present this medal to our graduate Kayla Kramer on behalf of the Governor General of Canada,” says Susan Bansgrove, Vice-President Academics and Research. “Kayla’s achievement is exemplary, and it is of particular note that she is the first student of Animal Health Technology to have accomplished top academic standing at GPRC. The entire College community extends its congratulations to Kayla Kramer, Governor General’s Academic Medal recipient 2013.”
