Objective: Support partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector. Amount: $7,000-$25,000

SSHRC Connection Grants
Objective: Connection Grants are expected to respond to the objectives of the Connection program. They support events and outreach activities geared toward short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives.Amount $7,000-$25,000 for events; up to $50,000 for outreach activities
Application deadlines: February 1, May 1
Alberta – Community Initiatives Program (CIP)Major Cultural and sport events grant funding is available to help organizations plan and host a single cultural or sport event that is either national or international in its scope and is open to the public.
Maximum funding $250,000
Deadline: April 1 and October 1 each year (projects must be completed within 18 months)
Trans-Atlantic Platform – Social Innovation International projects that can contribute to increasing our understanding of societal transformations and the role the social innovation. Collaboration through this call will enable researchers to: Address social challenges, such as the digital divide; urban and rural developments and cohesion; access to public services and infrastructure; ethnic conflicts; human rights and legislation; etc.Deadline: February 14, 2019
STUDENTS: SSHRC Story tellers contestThe contest challenges post-secondary students to show Canadians how social sciences and humanities research is affecting our lives, our world and our future for the better.

Soroptimist Foundation of Canada Objective: Canadian women graduate student Grant to assist them with university studies, which will qualify them for careers, which will improve the quality of women's lives. Examples include but are not limited to providing services, providing legal counselling and assistance, counselling mature women entering or re-entering the labor market, counselling women in crisis, counselling and training women for non-traditional employment, and positions in women's centers.
