Sept 18th - Rubrics (Ben, Zoom)
Interested in using rubrics in your course, but not sure where to start? This session will explain what a rubric is, how to build one, and even how to integrate it into your Moodle course space.
Sept 25th - Quizzes (Jason)
Let Moodle manage your quizzes with automated grading. Set them up once, and use them forever.
Oct 2nd - OER (Ben, Zoom)
Open Educational Resources can be powerful and inexpensive learning tools for both instructors and students. This session will cover what OERs are, how you can benefit and where to start looking.
Oct 9th - Zoom (Jason)
Learn to use Zoom for video conferencing with individual students, or your entire class.
Oct 23rd - Gradebook (Jason)
Learn the basics of Moodle’s Gradebook. This session will cover how to create items to grade, and to organize them to properly calculate the final grade according to your course outline.
Nov 6th - Turn it in (Jason and Ben, Zoom)
Turnitin is an online plagiarism tool that is fully integrated with Moodle. Learn how to use this tool to help spot plagiarism, or to allow your students to check that their own papers are not plagiarizing.
The Educational Technologies Centre provides support to faculty and students in becoming more familiar with current and emerging technologies. The Centre focuses on the integration of online and face-to-face delivery methods by supporting the design, development and maintenance of education materials. We provide pedagogical support as well as training and technical support for many different hardware and software tools throughout GPRC, including Moodle, Zoom, and SMART Board.
Our Centre leads teaching, learning, and educational technologies at GPRC, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation throughout the institution and community.
We will champion and promote quality education by offering professional development services, offering course development services, and providing learning technologies and classroom training that support student-centred teaching and learning at GPRC.
