More About Elliott, Sheila

BSN from University of British Columbia - 1983
MN from University of Calgary - 1993
Before I began my teaching career I worked as a staff nurse in medicine, on the float team and in the intenvisve care unit. More recently I've done some casual shifts in Home Care and also at Public Health with influenza clinics during flu season.
I moved to Grande Prairie for "a couple of years" to teach at the College in 1984. I enjoy my job at the College and have taught a variety of courses. Currently I teach Year 3 and Year 4 courses.
.My main clinical interest is in caring for adults living with a chronic illness, particularly a cardiovascualar illness. I have recently returned from a year sabbatical where I had the opportunity to study more about pain management and interprofessional health team development.
In my spare time I like to be creative and spend time quilting with friends, or relaxing with a good book.
