More About Makela, Lisa
Lisa found her passion for fitness later in life and enrolled at GPRC at the age of 41, proving it is never too late to go back to school. She graduated in 2018 from the two year Personal Trainer program, receiving her diploma with distinction. Now, as a CSEP-CPT working with Be Fit for Life, Lisa can help others succeed in their health and fitness journeys. As a group fitness trainer, she is always eager to share her energy, bad singing, and encouragement.
As a mother of twin boys, she always made it a priority to keep them active. Spending ten years as a football mom proved the value of good health for her kids. So, while studying, she was introduced to physical literacy during her practicum, it was an avenue with which she quickly fell in love.
Lisa is also a St. John Ambulance first aid instructor and volunteer Medical First Responder.
Her motto is to always help others “Find their Strong” in whatever capacity that may look like, and believes everyone’s journey is very personal.
