Puppy Days is a chance to pet, hug, laugh and love a bunch of furry little animals on GPRC campus throughout the academic year. Student Wellness has teamed up with the local SPCA branch in hopes of allowing our many College students and staff of GPRC a chance to take a break from their daily grind. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for the dogs to get out of the canal and into the arms of caring people.
Feeling like it’s been a crazy day?! Get up from your chair and enjoy your 15 minute break walking the glorious halls of GPRC. Student Wellness has created numerous Walking Routes that will allow you the joys of reenergizing yourself, taking your mind of the many tasks to complete, and see some friendly faces around GPRC Campus.

BFFL Personal Training Options
Be Fit For Life (BFFL) offers many different types of programs available to those at GPRC as well as the entire Grande Prairie community. They offer Personal Training sessions to get you better acquainted with the weight room and exercise techniques; they can assist you design your own Program suitable for what’s right for you; perform Body Composition tests and comprehensive Fitness Assessments.
Weight Room Orientations
Student Wellness is proud to announce the partnership with Be Fit For Life to offer Free Weight Room Orientations! During each Weight Room Orientation you’ll learn a variety of fitness exercises to help with your personal goals, become familiar with our fitness equipment and obtain knowledge that will assist you in creating a lifelong enjoyment of exercising in a positive gym environment. Instructor will provide insight on how to design an exercise routine and showcase the benefits of maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. These Personal Trainers and Instructors will give you proper demonstration on many traditional exercises. There is no fee required and is open to all GPRC Students, Staff and Faculty members; community members pay a small charge of $31.50 per visit.
Drop by the BFFL desk between 8:30am – 4:30pm to register for an Orientation in the fall or winter semester. Or call the main desk at 780-539-2816 to sign up! Approaching the weight room with even basic understanding will increase your exercise efficiency and supercharge your results!
Lots happens over a year at College and sometimes we feel like our usual self, well just remember there are always options to explore. At GPRC we can direct you to some of those options and assist you through Peer Counselling, Academic Support in the Library or simply visiting alternative Mental Health websites.
Learn about the many facets that are involved in maintaining a healthy food diet, what diet even means, what types of foods are recommended for different types of athletes, help in making meal plans for yourself, and how you can make terrific meals on a budget. Proper nutrition is highly important when it comes to maintaining adequate energy stores for study sessions and physical activity. The Financial Aid Team is here to help you navigate through the world of student funding! Life as a college student can be very exciting and rewarding. However, obtaining a post-secondary education can be very costly and needs to be well planned. The Financial Aid Team is here to assist you and provide support in meeting your education costs through a variety of award and aid programs (scholarships, bursaries, government student loans and grants). Student Health Care Plan
It's important to know what sort of services are available to you as a student here at GPRC. Go to the Students' Association Benefit Plan webpage to review all your health benefits while you're a GPRC student. Find information about Visual, Dental & Physiotherapy Plans, make claims under your insurance plan and see the coverage periods to which you are covered by these plans. You'll be happy to know there are Health Insurance options for everyone.
