Fitness Instructors Biography
I have always been passionate about being fit and then I discovered I was even more passionate about teaching and helping others get fit. I have been teaching fitness for over 25 years and it's still my very favorite job. Many people have asked, “What motivates me to keep teaching?” My motivation comes from all the beautiful, wonderful people that attend my classes. I become very attached to my people. I love to see them see results. My goal for every person who attends my classes is that they feel successful at the end of each one. Come have fun and get fit.
I've always enjoyed attending fitness classes, and about 6 years ago I decided to become an instructor! Certified by the AFLCA, my specialty is the Sculpt class format. I've enjoyed instructing classes with the Be Fit for Life Centre at Grande Prairie Regional College ever since! I like to make fitness FUN but also encourage my students to challenge themselves to the best of their ability. We have a lot of fun, come check out a class today!
When I started practicing yoga I could not touch my toes; not even close. My body was inflexible, my mind was chaotic, and my soul was ready for change. In 2012 I decided to take the journey of completing my 200 hour yoga teacher training certification through Prana Yoga College in Ubud, Bali. In 2013 I decided to follow the universe and took my 300 hour through Marianne Wells yoga therapy in Cahuita, Costa Rica. My style of teaching embraces building strength, balance, and flexibility in the body while connecting with your breath. My intention is that you leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and empowered. We all have to start somewhere and appreciate where we are in that moment. My influence to teach yoga is from the transformation yoga had on my body, mind and life. I believe yoga is available to everyone; all you have to do is show up and breathe. Appreciate what the universe has to offer us in each and every moment and trust the journey.
Erin Post took her first fitness class in college and got hooked. Much to the surprise of her high school phys ed teachers, a fitness instructor emerged. In 2006, Erin was in two car accidents causing neck and back injuries. She feels this experience helps her to understand barriers and challenges others face while trying to start or maintain a healthy, active lifestyle. Erin’s other passions include her two children, travel to sand and sun, learning Spanish, and a chick flick with a glass of wine. While traveling this past year, she guest instructed in Cozumel, MexicoErin currently instructs Zumba, barre, spin, strength training, water fitness and everything in between.
Leigh Roberts As someone who has suffered from scoliosis, chronic pain, and anxiety my whole life; yoga for me has been a journey to healing. I started practicing yoga after exhausting every other avenue to live a pain free life. Being told numerous times I would never be healed drove my desire to stay consistent with my yoga practice. Five years later I am mentally and physically stronger than I have ever been. After completing my yoga training I believe the journey continues by helping to empower and motivate others on their own journey.
