Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) Eligibility- As required by the Ministry of Human Services, Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD), everyone who receives support through inclusive post-secondary education must be approved by PDD to be eligible for funding. If you are unsure, please contact PDD.
Please note tuition is not covered by PDD funding. Tuition is the responsibility of each student. Students should budget roughly $2000/year for tuition, textbooks, and other student fees.
Inclusive post-secondary education is open to any individual who is PDD eligible. Please do not think your family member might be excluded from this possibility because of the severity of their disability. Inclusion Alberta is committed to ensuring these opportunities are available to all people regardless of disability label – we believe that all people are able to learn.
Inclusive post-secondary education is an agreement between Inclusion Alberta and Grande Prairie Regional College. Through inclusive post-secondary education, Grande Prairie Regional College supports students with developmental disabilities so they can realize and achieve their educational and career goals.
Students with developmental disabilities can enroll in programs and attend college courses as auditing students. Instructors, students, classmates, and Inclusion Alberta facilitators work together to create inclusive learning experiences for everyone. Participating students receive support from the on-site Inclusion Alberta facilitator, who also supports students in finding meaningful employment that reflects their career goals.
