Your Opportunity:
The Rural Addiction and Mental Health Community Team is looking for an experienced, skilled, enthusiastic and dynamic team member to fill the position of a full-time Mental Health Therapist for the Crowsnest Pass area. You have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Albertans. The Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for the delivery of a continuum of treatment services, including screening, assessment, treatment planning, harm reduction, case management and therapeutic interventions in individual and group settings, primarily with adults and seniors. This person will work from a concurrent capable framework, and must be able to provide a wide variety of evidence-informed treatment modalities to individuals with mental health and addictions issues. This is an advanced clinical role required to perform the restricted activity of Psychosocial Interventions. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will maintain accurate and appropriate documentation on client files in a timely fashion. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with allied professionals and community agencies to provide seamless service to clients. As this position is based in a rural setting, the successful candidate must be able to function extremely well both independently and interdependently as they will work within a small office of highly dedicated individuals, as well as within the larger Rural Team. This position reports to the Manager of the Rural Addiction and Mental Health Community Team. The team in the Blairmore offices consists of 2 other mental health therapists, an addiction counsellor, two administrative support staff, and a child life specialist. The Crowsnest Pass area is renowned for its beauty and its many outdoor recreational opportunities.
Description:
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
