News Archives: GPRC Wolves Offering Ever Popular Sport Camps for Kids This Summer

GRANDE PRAIRIE – GPRC Wolves Summer Camps have a summer full of fun and innovative activities planned for children ages 6-17 years who want to experience a variety of sports and activities.
Wolves Summer Camps offers many different activity based camps this summer as well as advanced basketball and volleyball camps for high school students who want to take their playing to the next level. Included in all Wolves Summer Camps are a hot lunch program, early drop off and late pick up times and a camp T-shirt. Camps range in price from $175 to $350 per week.
Camp themes include:
Badminton – This camp will focus on basic strokes, hand-eye coordination and the fundamentals, then progresses to stroke technique and footwork making Badminton a sport you can enjoy at any age. This camp is for campers ages 8-16 years.
Climbing/Multi-Sport – Campers will engage in fitness, socialization and skill development in the Multi-Sport Camp as well as a half day of climbing. Each week of camp will include games and climbing activities with instruction on safety systems, essential knots, proper equipment use and lots of climbing. This camp is designed for campers ages 7 -14 years.
Multi-Sport – Young sport enthusiasts have an opportunity to explore a variety of sports and activities, which reinforce the complete athlete. Through a non-competitive setting, campers will engage in fitness, socialization, and skill development, not to mention meet new friends and have a fun-filled week! This camp is suitable for campers ages 6 -14 years.
Musically Active - Musically Active brings campers a combination of musical activities, singing, and lots of fun! Activities include making music with instruments, drumming, musical skits and singing. This camp also includes physical activity, games and activities, and the exploration of many different sports. Campers ages 8-12 years are welcome to attend, express their creativity and learn new and exciting skills.
Volleyball – With a Bantam camp for athletes entering Grades 6-9 and an Advanced Skills camp for athletes entering Grades 9-12, Wolves Volleyball Camps not only teach new skills but improve upon those already known. Each camper is given the opportunity to learn as well as go to the next level in both teamwork and personal skill development. The coaches for this camp will feature former CCAA and CIS players as well as GPRC Wolves coaching staff.
Basketball – With three separate camps for campers entering Grades 4-6, 7-10 and 9-12, Wolves Basketball camps offer athletes the opportunity to learn basic skills and team concepts at a young age and build upon skills to become an advanced player. Athletes will play under the guidance of current and former GPRC Wolves players and the Elite Basketball camp will feature Edmonton Energy All Star player Steve Sir. Learn to play the WOLVES way!
Camps in Grande Prairie start July 4 and continue throughout the summer. GPRC is offering two Wolves camps at the Fairview campus this summer. These include a Multi-Sport camp July 25-29 and Basketball/Volleyball camp August 22-26.
