News Archives: GPRC Welcomes New Vice President Administration
Friday, January 16th, 2015
The GPRC Community has spent the past week welcoming Vice-President Administration, Dwayne Hart, DM, MBA, CGA to his new role. Dwayne Hart brings a broad base of multi-industry and post-secondary experience in addition to a strong commitment to the mission of community colleges. He most recently held the position of Vice President, Finance and Administration & CFO at Keyano College in Fort McMurray, and has also fulfilled that role at Northern Lights College in Dawson Creek.
”I am very pleased to be returning to the Peace Region,” says Hart. “Early in my career I was the agriculture manager for Federated Co-op Limited in Rycroft, and now three of our four children live in northern BC and Alberta with their families, so Grande Prairie is a very appealing location on a personal level. Grande Prairie Regional College is an institution at a very exciting point in its history, and I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities of the coming years!”
Over the past few decades his career and education have combined to prepare Hart perfectly for leadership of a comprehensive community institution such as GPRC; he completed a diploma in agriculture management, holds trade certification as a Gasfitter Class B, is a Certified General Accountant and has earned both Master and Doctoral degrees in management. Prior to his years in post-secondary administration, Hart has been a college instructor, and has experience in industries as diverse as investment, downstream oil and gas, retail operations management and agriculture.
“Dwayne Hart is bringing experience and expertise in all of the areas most important to our College and to our community,” says Don Gnatiuk, President and CEO. “We are absolutely delighted to be embarking on the next history-making years of this institution with Dwayne on board.”
The Vice-President Administration is responsible for the facilities, financial services, human resources and information technology of the College.
