Gnatiuk to Stay at Helm of GPRC to 2022
Released: Thursday, November 28th, 2013
The GPRC Board of Governors has passed a motion to extend the contract of President and CEO Don Gnatiuk five years beyond what has already been agreed. “The stability of this College is essential for the future of our community,” says Board of Governors Chair Vincent Vavrek. “Don has provided great leadership over the past six and a half years, and in that time the College has grown, strengthened and gained in stature in our region here and far beyond. The Board is unanimous in our desire to keep up the momentum, and to assure a continued positive future well into the future.”
The existing contract between Gnatiuk and the Board was recently renewed to June 2017. Now that commitment has been extended to 2022.
“This College, this community, is moving quickly on many fronts,” Vavrek says. “From major projects such as the regional hospital being built on our West GP Campus to program growth and the enhancement of academic partnerships with other institutions, this administration under the leadership of Don Gnatiuk is achieving great things. The Board recognizes that a long-term commitment will further strengthen and energize these possibilities.”
The motion to extend the contract for President and CEO Don Gnatiuk was passed at the regular meeting of the GPRC Board of Governors today, November 28, 2013, to the applause of all attendees. Mr. Gnatiuk expressed his thanks to the Board of Governors for the further opportunity presented, and his appreciation for their solid governance and good stewardship.
“This decision has been based upon discussion with stakeholders and feedback from our community,” says Vavrek. “Don Gnatiuk is highly regarded by community leaders throughout our region. This contract extension recognizes the importance of the President and CEO to the sustainability of the College. It is the responsibility of the Board to ensure that the College is in good hands going forward. This contract provides that critical continuity.”
