News Archives: Unmanned Vehicle Systems Public Demonstration Day May 30
Released: Monday, May 6th, 2013
The Peace Country UVS Partnership is hosting a demonstration day to give Peace Area residents and companies an opportunity to learn more about unmanned vehicle systems and their potential uses in industries in our region. Demonstrations will be at the Fairview Campus of GPRC and will include air, ground, blended ground/underwater, and underwater unmanned vehicles.
The event is open to anyone interested in this opportunity to:
- Talk with UVS equipment providers
- Share ideas, needs and opportunities around unmanned systems
- Observe demonstrations of UVS in operation. At the end of the day, a mini-Trade Fair will allow guests an opportunity to talk directly to the Unmanned Vehicle Systems (UVS) representatives.
The Peace Country UVS Partnership (PCUVSP) was formed in July 2012. Members of PCUVSP are the Town of Fairview, the Municipal District of Fairview, the Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) School of Trades, Agriculture and Environment and the GPRC Centre for Research & Innovation (CRI). The mandate of the partnership is to inform Peace Country residents of the potential uses of UVS and to assist in the development of the UVS industry in the region with special attention to potential demonstration projects and business development in Fairview area communities.
There is no charge for this public demonstration day, but advance registration is required.
