GPRC and Wolves Athletics are proud to announce the induction of Jason Haldane and the Funk Family to the GPRC Wolves Wall of Fame. The Funk Family consists of 4 siblings â€" Tanya, Rick, Brad and Bryan - who all played volleyball for GPRC. Haldane and the Funk Family are all being inducted in the Player category at a ceremony and dinner October 25th. Jason Haldane played for the GPRC Wolves from 1990-1992 and has not quit playing since. He was part of Canada’s National Team Program from 1992- 2004. Recently Haldane participated in the 2012 London Olympics as a member of Team Great Britain. Haldane’s pro career started in 1994 and continues to today. “Jason’s career and accomplishments are quite phenomenal” noted Ron Thomson, Haldane’s coach at GPRC. “To achieve his success and continue to play at the world level is a credit to Jason and his abilities” Thomson added. The Funk Family members have a storied career in volleyball at GPRC. Starting with Bryan in 1991 and finishing with Rick in 2001, they have amassed quite a record. Together they have acquired 7 ACAC All Conference selections and one CCAA All Canadian Award. The three brothers were all members of the 1999-2000 GPRC Wolves team which won the CCAA bronze medal here at home. The involvement did not stop with playing as they have coached and officiated, and are continuing to coach. “This is an incredibly talented family” stated Ron Thomson who coached Rick, Brad and Bryan. “Each has won their individual All Conference Award while contributing to the overall success of each of their teams” Thomson added. “GPRC is extraordinarily proud of the achievements of our Wolves athletes,” says Don Gnatiuk, GPRC President and CEO. “It is with great respect and gratitude that we add Jason Haldane and the Funk Family to the Wall of Fame in the hallway near our gymnasium. These Wolves Alumni continue to be great ambassadors for our College, and inspirations for the athletes in our communities.” The GPRC Wolves Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place Thursday October 25th at the GP Inn.
