CFI (Canada Foundation for Innovation) – College Industry Innovation Fund – NOI Submission March 15th (RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE) Colleges may submit up to two proposals per competition, each requesting up to $1 million form the CFI. In the event that a college decides to submit more than one proposal per competition, the two must not fall within the same strategic applied research area. Seeking proposals that enhance existing applied research and technology development capacity in colleges across all domains of applied research and technology development.
NSERC Connect Grants (OPEN)
Objective: Support activities that will help make Canada a country of discoverers and innovators for the benefit of all Canadians.
Amount (Level 1): Up to $5,000
Amount (Level 2): Up to $25,000
NSERC Engage Grants (OPEN)
Objective: University or college researchers can apply to launch a collaborative research and development project that applies their expertise to address a company challenge
Amount up to $25,000 up to six months
SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant
Objective: Support partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector.
Amount: $7,000-$25,000
Application deadlines: March 15 and June 15
SSHRC Connection Grants
Objective: Connection Grants are expected to respond to the objectives of the Connection program. They support events and outreach activities geared toward short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives.
Amount $7,000-$25,000 for events; up to $50,000 for outreach activities

Alberta Innovates - Post-Secondary Investments: Strategic networking and development
Objective: Alberta Innovates welcomes proposals for hosting, conference attendance, workshops and recruitment activities.The event or activity must advance Alberta’s research focus in the areas of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Nanotechnology and omics in and of themselves, or which additionally support the innovation priority areas of Environment and Climate, Energy, Food and Agriculture, Fiber/bio industrial and Health
Amount: Up to $10,000

NSERC College and Community Innovation Program – Applied Research and Development Grants (OPEN)
The Applied Research and Development (ARD) Grants are intended to provide companies that operate from a Canadian base access to the unique knowledge, expertise and capabilities available at Canadian colleges and to train students in essential technical skills required by companies. The mutually beneficial collaborations are expected to result in economic benefits to the company and/or Canada.
