Larry Hurtado is an internationally famous scholar in New Testament studies. His research into the historical background of early Christianity is widely respected and his approach to theology is recognized across the scholarly and religious divides as non-dogmatic, original and comprehensive. He is an invited speaker in Jewish and some Muslim circles, as well as Christian scholars. Currently Professor of New Testament Language, Literature and Theology at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, we are catching him between presentations in Australia and the USA.
His presentation will focus, not on theology, but on his historical research into the times of Christ, ancient manuscripts and the emergence of the early Christian community.
