The Idlewild Expedition - Speaker Series Welcomes Ben Gray
The Idlewild Expedition:
Difficult, Dangerous, Expensive, and the Trip of a Lifetime for the Grays of Silver Valley, Alberta
Grande Prairie resident Ben Gray, formerly of Silver Valley, accompanied by his sons, accomplished an around-the-world trip by boat, launching on the Peace River at Dunvegan on May 22, 2005, and completing the journey at Vancouver 445 days and 62,000 km later.
Ben Gray will share some of the stories about this expedition, which he describes as "more difficult, more dangerous and more expensive than I thought it would be and yet we completed it on schedule with no major mishaps. We were joined by many friends in many places and for all of us it was truly ‘a trip of a lifetime’.”
In the Daily Herald-Tribune on October 6, 2006, Gray said “we traveled to (exciting and exotic) places, but now that we’re home we realize our great memories are of the fabulous people we met.”
Don't miss the story of the great adventures of the Idlewild and the Gray family.
