GPRC Chess Club attempt to break world record

This GPRC Chess Club event, while raising donations for The Room of Plenty is aimed at breaking the current Guinness World Record of 61 hours 3 minutes continuous board game.
The challenge begins at noon on Sunday, August 26th. in L104 (Black Box). If the game is still active in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 29, the old record will have been broken, The match is expected to end some time between noon and 8 pm on Aug 29.
A group of students is looking to take a crack at the Guinness World Record of Longest Marathon Playing a Board Game. The game to be played is Twilight Imperium 3rd Edition: Shards of the Throne. The current record to beat is 61 hours and 2 minutes. The group will be going for 70 hours to accomplish their goal.
This event will be targeting the GPRC's student food bank, the Room 'O Plenty. During this time we will be accepting non-perishable food items and cash donations to be received at the Black Box Theater. Please contact Thomas Petersen for more information
