Scott Hysler provides expertise and leadership to ensure MERIT’s continued success in the growing active adult sector of community management. He is an integral part of designing customer services to support the active adult lifestyle and is the key liaison providing strategic direction and maintaining client relationships.
Hysler has extensive experience in the community development industry with a focus on active adult communities and creation of community lifestyle. He developed the first active adult adventure lifestyle program in the country and was instrumental in opening several active adult communities on the East Coast. Hysler is frequently requested to speak on topics related to development of senior communities and the active adult industry. Before joining the community management industry, Hysler served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years and a US Naval Academy instructor.
Scott’s presentation will include all generations of older adults but with extra information on Baby Boomers. He will present ideas on how to create programs for older adults of all ages and ability levels, particularly fitness programs for today’s active seniors. Scott will also talk about trends in the senior and active adult industry for the next decade.
We are all connected to older adults in one way or another and Scott’s exciting philosophy is realistic and thought-provoking. Many older adults want to travel after retirement and many aim to do everything from zip lining in Italy to hiking in Nepal. Whether you are a ‘doer’ or a ‘watcher’, you will revel in the hope and thrill of these adventures.
