More About Ballance, Joanne
Joanne graduated with distinction from GPRC with a diploma in Business Administration (Marketing) in 2000 and went on to complete a Bachelor of Management degree (International Management) from the University of Lethbridge. Joanne spent her last semester abroad at the L'Universite de Lieige in Belgium. After completing her degree, Joanne worked for the University of Victoria with the Faculty of Business to raise major donations while building faculty alumni chapters in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto.
At GPRC Joanne works as the Director of Development within Community Relations and is responsible for Annual Giving, Major Giving, Campaign and Development Services and the GPRC Alumni/Foundation. Joanne has taught part time in the GPRC Department of Business instructing Introduction to Marketing, Not for Profit Marketing and Public Relations, and Advertising and Sales Promotion courses.
As a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Edmonton Chapter, Joanne volunteers as a faculty member delivering the two day Fundraising Fundamentals workshop. Joanne is also a member with the Estate and Financial Planning Institute in Grande Prairie and sits on the marketing commitee. As a member the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie Joanne is past chair the local donations and speakers committee, and is the club's past Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound Counsellor. Joanne currently sits on the executive for the club as Secretary.
Joanne received her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation in 2005. CFRE is the only international base-line credential for philanthropic fundraising professionals.
