GPRC can offer you a maximum of two years (60 credits) that will prepare you to apply to either the second or third year of the B.Ed. degree program at the University of Alberta or to the Combined Degrees B.Ed. programs at the University of Lethbridge. Both these universities within Alberta have a Residence Requirement that allows you to transfer a maximum of 60 credits of course work from other institutions or faculties into these programs.
Selection and completion of the appropriate courses for your program and a competitive grade point average (GPA) are required for successful transfer to the B.Ed. program of your choice. For further information on current required GPA, please consult with an advisor in Student Services.
Education Students Association
Students in the GPRC Education program can join the Education Students Association (ESA).
Teacher Education North (Collaborative degree program, Elementary)
You can complete your degree on campus at GPRC! After completing your first two years of the program at Grande Prairie Regional College, you can register with the University of Alberta for years three and four. Third year students complete four courses and a five week field experience in the fall term and five courses in the winter term. Students in fourth year will complete five courses in the fall term and two courses plus a nine-week field experience in the winter term.
