GPRC proudly hosted the
16th Annual Trades & Technology Camp
at our Fairview campus on May 4 & 5, 2017
The Trades & Technology Camp gives students in Grades 9 - 12, the chance to explore trades and technology training opportunities at GPRC. There are over 50 Apprenticeship trades currently operating within Alberta and this camp offers insight into the work trades do, and how they work together toward a common goal.
Once again we had a full camp, with 185 students from 17 high schools participating this year. Sessions covered programs like Animal Health Technology, Automotive Service, Carpentry, Electrical, Harley Davidson®, ThinkBIG Service, Heavy Equipment Technician, Instrumentation, Machinist/Millwright, Parts Technician, Plumbing/Gasfitting-Steamfitting-Pipefitting, Power Engineering, and Welding. Each student had hands-on practice in three areas of their choice, as well as an information session about the Register Apprenticeship Program, provided by Careers: The Next Generation.
