Join us for the 10th annual Aboriginal Job Shadow Program! The Aboriginal Job Shadow Program runs from July 10 to August 18 and is intended for Aboriginal students aged 15-17. Students are expected live at the GPRC dorms from Monday to Friday every week, and go home on the weekends (even if you live in Grande Prairie you must stay in the dorms during the weekdays for the duration of the program).
Students attend GPRC for the first two weeks of the program and attend a variety of safety courses, life skills sessions, activities and events. Once training is complete, there is a four week practicum prior to attending the graduation ceremony.
There is a $400 per week training allowance provided to students accepted into the program, a $400 completion bonus for students who complete the six-week program, and CEU credits may go toward high school graduation credits for participation in the program.
Please see the Student Information Package for descriptions of positions available and other important information about the program.
Please note: As students are under the age of 18, no student may use or possess tobacco, tobacco products, e-cigarettes, alcohol or illegal drugs at any time.
It's important to read the Student Information Package prior to applying for this program to ensure you meet the requirements.
Submit your application directly to:
Continuing Education Department, Office M105, GPRC
