English Rider Development Program - Rider Level 1 and 2 (EQ007)
Taught by a Certified Equine Canada (EC) Coach, this is the first in the series of the EC English Rider 1 to 8 Programs which are preparatory for becoming a Certified Coach or Instructor but are also excellent for riders who wish to learn safe horsemanship and practices. During this three and a half day course, the first two and a half days will be spent on preparatory work and the final day will encompass an exam. Riders will acquire the basics of riding and demonstrate good position, knowledge of aids and emphasize safe habits. As the course proceeds, riders will further develop their skills and knowledge acquired; the rider will become more independent in both their riding and in their stable management skills.
Bonus: Although not required components, the instructor will also go over some bandaging and lunging techniques and, as well, will infiltrate the German riding system program and bring awareness to the German manuals.
The exam is composed of written, oral and practical (riding) on the information in the manuals. Riders must be turned out with show attire and horses braided for the exam. Upon successful completion, riders will receive their Rider Level 1-2 Certificate from the Alberta Equine Federation (AEF). Course cost includes AEF's fees for processing this certificate.
All students MUST be current members of the Alberta Equestrian Federation.
