Cannabis and Youth (CNB03)
Cannabis is one of the top five most commonly used drug by teens, and is often one of the first drugs a teen is offered. Canadians between the ages of 15 and 24 had the highest rate of cannabis consumption nationally as of March 2019. While a lengthy lecture likely isn’t going to deter them, sharing facts and statistics about cannabis could educate your teen about its risks and dangers. How do you approach your child about the topic of cannabis? Don’t wait for them to bring up the subject. Start a conversation today!
This workshop is facilitated by Joelle McMurchy, a Practical Nurse and Cannabis Educator at Leaf Wise, the only medical cannabis clinic in Grande Prairie. Come and learn the impact of early use of cannabis in a child’s life; and the significant risk of problems it can cause with their health, education, and social life. Equip yourself with the knowledge to help protect your child, and to provide them with the right information.
*Parents are welcome (and encouraged!) to bring their teen to the workshop, at no additional cost.
