The Arts and Education Department requires an English Instructor to teach courses in Literature and Composition at the Undergraduate University Level. This position is a full time 8.5 month sabbatical replacement. The successful applicant will teach courses in Rhetoric and Composition (EN1201), Literature in English-Beginnings to Present (EN1000), Literature in Historical Perspective (EN1210), Early Twentieth Century British Novel (EN3650) and Early Twentieth Century American Novel (EN3610).
Successful candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in English Literature. Evidence of successful instruction of junior undergraduate courses in English is also necessary. Candidates must be professionals who have excellent communication skills, experience with various pedagogical strategies, are highly collegial and are responsive to a College teaching environment. Familiarity with current educational technologies commonly found in classrooms (e.g., videoconferencing, on-line delivery platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard or Web CT) and knowledge of design and development of undergraduate English courses are desired.
This full-time sessional (leave replacement) position will commence August 15, 2014, and end April 30, 2015. Grande Prairie Regional College offers an attractive benefits and remuneration package. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
