The Director, Continuing Education reports to the Vice-President, Academics and Research and is responsible for leading and directing, the Continuing Education Department, as a revenue arm of the College, to achieve Grande Prairie Regional Collegeís (GPRC) organizational goals and objectives.
The Director, Continuing Education, will respond to industry and community needs, develop and maintain relationships with the business sectors of GPRCís stewardship region and work closely with deans and directors to determine develop and coordinate GPRCís non-credit program offerings. Within the department, the position will focus on:
Responding rapidly and effectively to industry, community and College demand for non-credit programming.
Communicating with industry, GPRC administration, departments and the community about Continuing Education programming.
Developing entrepreneurial practices and processes that ensure that the department is efficiently and effectively generating revenue.
Developing and mentoring the Continuing Education team.
We are seeking an individual who is creative and innovative and who takes advantage of opportunities, while recognizing the necessity of working in alignment with the strategic directions of GPRC. Proven business success and acumen is required.
A Bachelorís Degree in a related field such as business or entrepreneurship is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. We are seeking an individual who is able to assess situations objectively within the context of the Collegeís strategic plan. The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills and well-developed strategic planning, process, organization and priority setting skills. This individual will be adept at creative problem solving.
This full-time, permanent position will commence as soon as possible. Grande Prairie Regional College offers a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package.
