INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN ASSISTANT,
The Library currently has a position opening for an Instructional Design Assistant. In this position, you will assist the Instructional Designer in creating pedagogically sound courses that are regularly evaluated and updated. You will prepare and edit online course material and learning objects, and be a member of the online and blended course design team. In addition, you will be the back-up for the Learning Management System, handling instructor and student requests as needed. Proficiency with computers as well as strong interpersonal communication and public service skills are essential. Candidates must be professionals who are friendly and have good written/verbal communication, customer service, and time management skills. Training will be available for the specific technical functions of the position.
•With guidance from the Instructional Designer, create or edit online course materials, learning objects, and/or test banks.
•Front-line contact offering users support for their online course materials.
•Perform Circulation duties for the Library.
•A two-year Diploma in a related field, preferably in Computer Systems Technology with a Web Design Specialization, and six months’ related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Current proficiency in computer applications.
This full-time, term-certain position will commence August 12, 2013, and end May 30, 2014. Grande Prairie Regional College offers an attractive benefits package and a starting salary of $3,226.00 per month.
