HUMAN SERVICES INSTRUCTORS
The Human Services Department requires Instructors to teach various courses and supervise practicums in the Early Learning Child Care Program at various sites in Alberta including Northern Alberta, Edmonton, Calgary and Southern Alberta.
A Bachelor's Degree with an Early Childhood specialization and teaching experience is required; a Masterís Degree is desired. Preference will be given to candidates who have post-secondary teaching experience and recent work experience in an early childhood setting or an afterschool care setting.
Applicants must be flexible; have effective interpersonal, oral, written, and organizational skills and the ability to relate well to adults in both the classroom and field practice/practicum setting; be student focused; have knowledge of computers; have familiarity with early childhood programs; work well as a team member; and present a professional image to the public. Candidates must have knowledge of best practice in program for young children; familiarity with current policies and procedures in early learning and child care programs and after school settings; and understand and be responsible to the needs of the adult learner, and develop courses accordingly. Familiarity with distance learning delivery modes and video conferencing of courses would be an asset.
These part-time sessional positions will commence September 1, 2012, and will be on-going into the 2013 year.
