GPRC Wolves is pleased to congratulate Ryan Pomeroy on being named one of Canada’s top 40 under 40. The announcement was made last week by Founding Partner Caldwell, and Presenting Partner MNP, after Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Independent Advisory Board, which comprises more than 20 respected and experienced individuals from across Canada met to select the Honourees. Ryan was selected from almost 800 nominations from across Canada.
A Wolves Wall of Fame inductee, respected community leader and dedicated supporter of the athletics program, Ryan played with the Wolves between 1997 and 2001. He has had an exceptional volleyball career that includes playing with Canada’s National Program and playing professionally in Europe.
During his time with the Wolves, the Men’s Volleyball Team experienced their most successful medal run which included 1 ACAC Bronze Medal, 2 ACAC Silver Medals, 1 CCAA Bronze Medal and 2 CCAA Silver Medals. These came as the College hosted three highly successful back to back CCAA Men’s Volleyball Nationals. Ryan was also named an ACAC All Star in 2 of his seasons.
Ryan has been involved with GPRC and Wolves Athletics in many capacities since his playing days, and we are proud of his achievements on and off the court says Ron Thomson, Director for GPRC Sport, Fitness and Wellness. His dedication and work ethic as an athlete, and as a businessman have earned him this well-deserved recognition.
Recipients will be honoured at the Top 40 National Celebrations to be held in Toronto in November, including the Top 40 Awards Night Gala at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on the night of November 21, 2018.
Congratulations Ryan. Once a wolf, always a wolf.
