Another week, another WOW!

This week’s Workout of the Week (WOW) is brought to you by Terrence Wold, a second year Personal Trainer Diploma student of the PEAK  Advanced Methodologies class.

Workout of the week posters can be found in two locations around our Grande Prairie campus!

  1.  Located at the bottom of the stairs into the weight room and
  2.  Located by the water fountain at the top of the stairs in the weight room.

Terrence, the student responsible for this week’s WOW, has created a program tailored for advanced lifters. Terrence emphasizes the importance of rest when training for strength and hypertrophy which is why his WOW consists of a 4-day upper, lower split.

This WOW, and others like it exist to make your gym experience more interesting, as well as provide you with guidance and exciting new fitness routines.

Who’s ready for this week’s Workout of the Week (WOW)!?

WOW’s are weekly workouts brought you by the PEAK Advanced Methodologies class. These workouts provide knowledgeable recommendations and well rounded exercises for the fitness goer in everyone.

This week’s WOW is brought to you by Ryan and targeted at those individuals who are comfortable lifting their own body weight for higher reps. In this resistance training focused WOW, you will find four different days of workouts included!

Check your form and get exercise clarification by using the provided booklet found at the locations listed above.

GPRC Student Wellness is offering FREE Personal Training Sessions with the help of the Physical Education and Kinesiology (PEAK) Department’s Fitness Leadership Students. From now until the end of November, Fitness Leadership student Jayce will be offering his services to all GPRC Students and Staff as part of his practicum experience.

 

Perfect for people just starting to look into designing a fitness routine; or if you already have that figured out, it will still be a perfect opportunity to get a refresher on some new exercises, and develop new and more specific goals.

 

He’s offering the following within these sessions

  • Go over a full exercise routine
  • Exercise Consultation
  • Start the building blocks of creating your own Personal Workout Program
  • Familiarizing you with the fitness centre weight room and its equipment
  • Discussing your own fitness and exercise goals

All you have to do is sign up at the GPRC Fitness Centre, include your name and contact information, and the date and time when you’d prefer to meet Jayce for the 1 on 1 session. He is also willing to provide his services to a group of people all at once.
