Spring Lineup: GPRC Sport, Fitness & Wellness

GPRC Sport, Fitness and Wellness (SFW) is committed to providing essential programs, education and services to support good health and vitality to our students, staff and the entire community.

Spring has officially sprung!

The spring lineup is here at GPRC SFW and will run from April 23 to June 29; totaling 10-weeks of classes.

Individuals who want to get in on the action can either register for a specific class or purchase a SFW Punch Card at the Fitness Centre for $120 for 10 uses.

Ready to be WOW’ed?

This weeks Workout Of the Week is sure to kick up your fitness routine. WOW’s are brought to you by the PEAK program’s Advanced Methodologies Class.

This week’s creator is a fitness enthusiast, Terrance Wold, a second year Personal Trainer Diploma student. The program he has created is tailored to advanced lifters. Terrence has built this week’s program around the three “big lifts: squat, bench and deadlift”.

 

“One thing I love about fitness is that if you are dedicated it becomes a lifestyle more then it is a sport. In fitness your whole day evolves around the sport, whether it is prepping food every night to help you hit your macronutrients or eating every 3 to 4 hours so you can keep your body well nourished, this all leads to the bigger picture of you hitting your goals.”

Let the PEAK Advanced Methodologies class Workouts of the Week (WOW’s) keep you on track with your fitness goals.

WOW’s provide a workout with a warm up, workout, cool down, as well as useful tips and pointers!

The workout Adrienne has created is suitable for all fitness goers as a lower intensity and more controlled program that can be used on rest days from your regular exercise program, or as a warn up / cool down. The workout can be modified to suit you and your fitness needs.

This week’s creator Adrianne is passionate about leading a healthy life every day and living a balanced lifestyle.

“Health to me is an entire whole-body wellness: mind, body and soul. It’s all about finding a livable and realistic balance. I grew up in a home where my mom and family dealt with a great deal of mental health issues, I always found running and being active was a productive way to help me deal with things going on in my life.” – Adrianne Larsen

This week’s WOW is brought to you by Ryan and targeted at those individuals who are comfortable lifting their own body weight for higher reps. In this resistance training focused WOW, you will find four different days of workouts included!
