GPRC Wolves Featured Athletes of the Week: January 14, 2019

Each week, two GPRC Wolves athletes are selected for their achievements over the weekend on the field, track, or court. We are pleased to congratulate Sam Wiancko from the Wolves Women’s Soccer team and Carter Nadkrynechny from the Wolves Men’s Volleyball team as our current Featured Athletes of the Week!

Sam Wiancko #13

Program: 2nd Year, Bachelor of Science Nursing
Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Stony Plain, Alberta

Now in her second year at GPRC, midfielder Sam Wiancko has played a pivotal role in the Wolves program by mentoring the younger athletes on the team. Sam is calmness personified on the field and never seems rushed when possessing the ball, but rather takes her time to ensure the correct play, pass or shot is made. Anyone who watches Sam on the pitch can see that she is not afraid to head the ball and always puts her body on the line for the sake of the team. Sam excels in the classroom in her Nursing program and is a well-rounded student-athlete. Thank you to Sam for her dedication to the Wolves.

Carter Nadkrynechny #10

Program: 2nd Year, Business Administration
Position: Left-side Hitter
Hometown: Grande Prairie, Alberta

Carter has grown immensely as a player in his last two years with the Wolves. As a Grande Prairie hometown hitter, he has taken big steps forward in his second season. Carter’s work on and off the court has lead to big rewards in finding ways to adapt his strengths to the ACAC. Carter’s speed and ball control allow him to make important plays on reception and defense that set the base for the team’s offensive system. Thank you to Cater for his dedication to the Wolves.

Congratulations to our GPRC Wolves Featured Athletes of the Week. Thank you for being excellent examples of what it means to be a student-athlete.
