2018-19 Season Outlook
The Wolves return to the hardcourt for the 2018-19 season with a mix of returning players, new players to the program, as well as transfer players.
Returning this season is fourth year Alexander Joseph, third years Dane Philipenko, Vishal Dhillon, Logan Rempel, Josh Burnstad, and second years Jon Mueller and Jeremy Pynn. “The returning athletes are going to be the relied on to be leaders both on the court and in the classroom. We have several experienced players, who are familiar with the requirements of an ACAC college basketball player,” says Head Coach Evan Lloyd. “We are very fortunate to have as many returning players as we do.”
The Wolves have also welcomed two international players from the United States. Payton Tyrell and Jeremy Bishop are both from the state of Washington. Both have experience playing at the collegiate level and will fit in well with this group this season. Also joining the Wolves are athletes from other ACAC institutions. Josh Tuason joins the Wolves from King’s University and Mike Shelast from Lakeland College. “Any time you can welcome in players with collegiate experience, we seize that opportunity. All four players have experience in post-secondary basketball and we will rely on that experience as the season carries on,” said Lloyd.
Lastly, the Wolves are pleased to welcome five first years to the fold. Four of the five players are from the Peace Region, with one from British Columbia and all are excited for the challenges ahead. Liam O’Hallahan and Bryan Robinson are from Grande Prairie, JD Cardinal from McBride B.C, Matt McNaught from Spirit River and Darian Goertzen from LaCrete. “I am happy to have all five new recruits join the Wolf Pack this season.”
Head Coach Evan Lloyd was quoted as saying that “After finishing up our preseason schedule, I am excited for what’s ahead with this group. This group is growing together and with the regular season on the horizon, I see great things.”
