The GPRC Wolves Club Program strives to provide a high performance training environment that allows each athlete to reach their full potential. Our goal is to prepare athletes in both sport and life.
We train technical and tactical skills, knowledge of the game, intensified physical, mental and nutritional training. Our coaches also teach our athletes to cope with pressure, build confidence, balance multiple commitments, strive for academic success and live a life of integrity.
We are offering some EXCITING NEW PROGRAMS this year to enhance the development of our Wolves athletes and coaches.

Athlete Strength & Conditioning Program
We are very pleased to introduce Kayla Dodson as the new Wolves Athletics, Strength and Conditioning coach. Kayla comes to GPRC with a very impressive resume!
Kayla graduated with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics (Honours) from the University of Windsor. As a CIS athlete, Kayla played 5 years on the women’s hockey team and was a CIS All-Canadian twice. In 2016, Kayla completed her Masters of Sports Science at Bond University in Australia. She had been working as an intern coach for 8 months with the Australian Institute of Sport working with the sprint kayak team, para kayak team, junior swimmers and some Olympic swimmers and BMX athletes. While at the AIS, Kayla worked 1 on 1 with Canadian Olympic kayaker Adam vanKoeverdan.
Among her many credentials, Kayla is also an Accredited Australian Strength and Conditioning Coach, International Kinanthropometrist and weightlifting specialist.
Sport and Performance Psychology Program
Working in the sport performance field for over 15 years, Matthew has been a mental performance consultant for athletes from the Regional to International levels. He is a valuable member of the Centre for Sport, Fitness and Wellness team, offering his services to all Wolves athletes and coaches, including both the varsity and club programs.
Matthew was one of the Mental Performance Consultants (MPC) for Team Alberta with the 2013 Canada Summer Games and the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games. Recently, Matthew was selected to be the MPC for Team Alberta for the upcoming 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg, MB. Matthew’s current research interests include the development of coaching efficacy, intrinsic motivation in athletes, and mental performance planning.
