GPRC Tunes Up During Preseason

Like a dress rehearsal to the big event, the GPRC Wolves used a full preseason exhibition schedule to fine tune their play for the upcoming ACAC regular season.
The Wolves played six exhibition games split between Red Deer and Calgary in preparation for the regular season.
In the Red Deer preseason tournament, GPRC opened up with a 54-49 victory over Red Deer College in front of their home crowd. The next day, the Wolves lost a tightly contested battle with the Sait Trojans 58-56. And in the last day of the tourney, the Wolves lost to Lethbridge College 84-51.
The following weekend, the Wolves headed to Sait for the Sait Fall Classic. The Wolves beat the Red Deer College Queens 57-47. Jaelle Duinker led the way with 15 points, while Melissa Buhler had twelve and Lenka Rohova scored eight. In the second game, GPRC lost to Lethbridge College 83-62. Laura Dunsdon had sixteen points, Leah MacNeil scored fourteen points and both Melissa Buhler and Jaelle Duinker added ten points each. In their last exhibition game, the Wolves defeated Olds College 73-35. Fifth year guard, Erin Slemp led the way with eighteen points while Hailey Grayston added seven and first year players, Lorelle Kerik and Michelle Sykes each had six points.
The Wolves finished 3-3 during the exhibition season and are now prepared to begin their 2008 / 2009 ACAC season.
