Job Description
The Regional Enforcement Services Department is looking for a seasonal Parkland Patrol Officer to conduct patrols of County campgrounds, parks, green spaces and trails from approximately May to late August with the possibility of extension. The Parkland Patrol Officer will be appointed as a Bylaw Enforcement Officer and will work alongside with and report to either a Level 1 Community Peace Officer or an RCMP Officer.
Preference may be granted to candidates with experience and/or training in the following areas; ATV, UTV, LEBA, and TPR (formerly PPCT) self-defence, or candidates who have previous law enforcement experience and/or are enrolled in a post-secondary program with a concentration in policing, law enforcement, criminal justice or criminology.
The successful applicant will be a team player with good interpersonal, organizational, writing/record keeping and communication skills. You will be a self-starter who can contribute positively to the team environment. You will share a passion for enforcement along with recreation and outdoor activities.
Qualifications
Clean Criminal Record Check, Driver's Abstract and Class 5 Driver's License
Minimum 18 years old and in good physical condition
Ability to work shifts as assigned (some evening, weekend and stat holiday work required)
Ability to interact with members of the public in a professional manner
Additional Information
This position is 35 hours per week shift work, and includes weekend, evening and holiday work.
Hourly Pay: $27.23 to $32.03
