The GPRC President’s Ball will be honoured by the participation of Bill and Margaret Bowes this year. The eminent local couple have been regulars at the Ball for most of the years it has been held, and this year have accepted the invitation to help host the Ball as Honorary Chairs.
President’s Ball committee chair Janet Longmate says naming honorary chairs has been introduced this year as a way of expressing gratitude to long-time supporters of the College.
“Bill and I are delighted to be chosen as honorary chairpersons for the Ball,” says Margaret Bowes “We have been very interested in the College since it began its first classes in what is now the Prairie Gallery. The GPRC is a very important part of the community, both from the economic and educational aspects. We are always pleased to see the contributions the staff – teaching and support staff – makes to the community through their volunteerism.”
Longmate says the Bowes’ will be on hand to welcome guests to this Ball which promises an elegant evening of dining and dancing. “The committee this year is working to create an atmosphere which will delight and surprise our guests. All the popular elements of the Ball tradition will be in place, with an added “wow” factor that will set this evening apart.”
