Hybrid Safety for First Responders


This 8 hour training session will inform and prepare First Response personnel of the dangers associated with these vehicles. You will learn to quickly identify a Hybrid vehicle and the safety techniques you need to know before you respond to a Hybrid motor vehicle incident scene. The training is critical to anyone in this field. NOT IN THE AREA? No problem - call us and we'll arrange to take the course to you.

  • "Smart Key" operation and hazards
  • A hands-on approach to training with a hybrid vehicle on-site

  • Handling Hybrids for Autobody Technicians, Automotive Service Technicians and Tow Truck Operators

    Handling Hybrids Level 1
    This 8 hour training is designed for Autobody Technicians, Auto Mechanics and Tow Truck Operators. After completing this course you will have the knowledge to perform safe, basic repairs on today's fleet of low emission hybrid vehicles. The course offers "vehicle specific" features such as shut down procedures and safety precautions you will need to know prior to working on these vehicles.

 

  • Handling Hybrids Level 2
    This 8 hour training is designed for Autobody Technicians, Auto Mechanics and Tow Truck Operators. Continue your knowledge and build your confidence in working with Hybrid vehicles. Course content will be up to date for all the newest models and industry standards. There will be a hands-on component to this course.
    Level 1 is a prerequisite to taking Handling Hybrids Level 2.

Master Electrician Course

Prerequisite Journeyman Electrician with minimum 3 years experience
 
Preparation course for the Master Electrician Exam - emphasizes the correct interpretation and application of the Canadian Electrical Code and Alberta Regulations
Cost $975.00
 
Additional fee for Master's Examination through ECAA (Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta) -
$105.00 payable at time of exam

Introduction to MIG Welding Course

An introduction to the basics of Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG)
welding. This course is designed to give the individual hands-on
experience in a lab setting. At the completion of this course
the participants will have a basic understanding of
GMAW equipment and welding process.
GMAW can be used in fabrication, art work, agriculture, and
in the oil and gas industries.
No experience is required. No personal projects will be allowed.

Students will need to supply their own personal protective
equipment such as safety glasses, welding gloves, welding hat
or beanie. Welding helmets can be supplied as required.
Footwear needs to be leather with CSA approved high-top
safety boots being preferred. It is recommended that heavy-weave
cotton work wear with coveralls or lab coat be worn.

equipment and the welding process.

"B" Pressure Welding

This course will assist Journeymen Welders to achieve their initial "B" Pressure certifications. The college will make arrangements for students to do the performance test with ABSA> Students need to submit application form AB-68, copies of their Journeyman or Red Seal and driver's license or valid passport and the exam sitting fee of $235.00 to ABSA.
